Reading and listening

Who ranks the sermons? A Spurgeon scholar who has read every sermon in the library. He gives each one one to four stars; four stars mark the best three in every ten sermons.

What is the readers’ rating? Readers rate sermons on the scholar’s own scale, one to four stars. The sermon page shows the readers’ average beside the scholar’s stars. You can change your rating at any time.

Who reads the sermons aloud? An AI voice, not a human narrator. The words on screen follow it sentence by sentence.

Can I read without a connection? Yes. Every sermon you open is kept on your phone, so it opens again without a connection. Downloads, in You, lists them.

Where do the sermons come from? Spurgeon’s sermons are in the public domain. The texts come from the printed volumes of the New Park Street and Metropolitan Tabernacle Pulpit, and a few from Spurgeon Gems (spurgeongems.org).
